I am a facilitator of movement and community. My role as a teaching artist is to create a space where movers can explore their creativity, connect with one another, and build a sense of community. My approach is grounded in values of calmness, flexibility, understanding, and community, which I believe are crucial to fostering a healthy dance environment where everyone feels supported and valued. My work as an artist and educator is rooted in a commitment to community and process. I am particularly interested in working with individuals who do not necessarily consider themselves a "dancer," "performer," or "artist," and I believe that questioning these definitions is essential to creating an inclusive movement environment, where we can all relish in our experiences and perspectives. As a writer and interviewer, I have had the privilege of engaging with community members through conversations about their current experiences in the world, and their connection to art and community. My experiences as a writer and interviewer have enriched my work as a teaching artist by giving me a deeper understanding of the power of storytelling and the importance of creating space for dialogue.
